Lately, Sandra Fechner was a regular guest at the Opera House Leipzig singing here FLOSSHILDE, SCHWERTLEITE, 3rd DAME, ANNINA, 1st MAID….
At the Mainfranken Theatre Würzburg she made her debut as WALTRAUTE in Richard Wagner’s „Götterdämmerung“ under the musical direction of the GMD Enrico Calesso. Immediately after, she was engaged to sing ERDA in „Das Rheingold “.
The German alto singer absolved her singing studies in her native city Hannover with Prof. Carol Richardson and Prof. Jeffrey Smith. She is a Prize Winner of the International Richard-Wagner-Singing-Competition and the German Music Counsel. While still studying, the artist had her first engagement at the Hannover State Opera.
From 2002 to 2006 Sandra was a permanent member of the Wiesbaden Theatre ensemble, where she sang such roles as DORABELLA (Così fan tutte), CORNELIA (Giulio Cesare), MADDALENA (Rigoletto), SUZUKI (Madame Butterfly) and OLGA (Eugen Onegin).
In the season 2009/2010 she was a member of the Hannover State Opera ensemble, where she portrayed the 3rd DAME (Die Zauberflöte), HÄNSEL (Hänsel und Gretel), ANNINA (Der Rosenkavalier) and SCHWERTLEITE (Die Walküre), just to name a few. In 2010 Sandra Fechner made her debut as TÜRKENBABA (A rakes progress) at the Hildesheim Theater. In 2011 followed her debut here as AMNERIS (Aida) in the dramatic mezzo repertoire.
Guest performances brought the singer among others to the Coburg Theatre, the Schwerin State Theatre, and the Aalto Theatre in Essen.
Apart from opera works, a great deal of her musical activities lies in the concert field. Within the framework of the Hessian May Festival, she sang Rossini ‘s STABAT MATER and at the Wiesbaden Spa House she performed Arthur Honegger’s dramatic oratorio JEANNE D'ARC AU BÛCHER. At the Saarbrucken Congress Hall she sang Richard Wagner’s WESENDONCK-LIEDER in Hans Werner Henze’s arrangement for alto voice and chamber orchestra.
Sandra Fechner works with such renowned conductors such as Ulf Schirmer, Siegfried Köhler, Reinhard Goebel, Matthias Foremny, Christoph Gedschold, Hans Urbanek and Gerd Albrecht.
In 2005 she could be heard at the Stuttgart European Music Festival in the PASSION OF SAINT JOHN, produced by Dietrich Hilsdorf under the musical direction of Sébastian Rouland. She made her debut at the Berlin Philharmonic in Georg Friedrich Handel’s MESSIAS under the musical direction of Jörg-Peter Weigle. These were followed by invitations to sing Giuseppe Verdi ‘s REQUIEM, Felix Mendelssohn ‘s ELIAS and STABAT MATER by Antonin Dvorak.
