|
Staatstheater Meiningen – The Wreckers - THIRZA |
Karis Tucker as Thurza outshone everything, blazing the warm abundance of her mezzo voice up high. So lasst mich weinen meinen Schmerz, she sings in the second act, soaring over the harp in a Isolde-like manner: o Liebe! |
VAN Magazin - Albrecht Selge
van-magazin.de |
...the Ethel-experienced, extremely flexible and well-timbred mezzo soprano in the role of Thurza. |
OPERNWELT 12/24 – Lotte Thaler |
In a most stunning way, Karis Tucker draws the attention to this person, who in the beginning plays hardly a role, seeming totally uninvolved. |
Der Opernfreund – Inge Kutsche

Karis Tucker as Thurza vocally convinces, not only in the high registers but also in the low register het voice is round. |
Art5III – Martin Köhl
art5drei.de |
Tremendously, Karis Tucker with her rich mezzo soprano voice portrays Thurza‘s emancipative insisting on humanity and self-determined love. Highly dramatic up to the top, yet brilliant and with impressively beautiful intonation Tucker’s voice has a wide range bursting with energy. |
Die deutsche Bühne

Outstanding Karis Tucker, who had already excelled as Thurza in Glyndebourne two years ago and will also portray the role in Schwerin. Seldom combination of melodiousness with brilliance sounded so obvious.. |

Glyndebourne Festival – The Wreckers - THIRZA |
Karis Tucker’s intense Thurza, fierce in her condemnation of the community from which she feels alienated, and admirably secure over the role’s implacably wide range. |
The Guardian

His lover Thurza was a darkly-gleaming Karis Tucker, who showed remarkable dexterity and consistency across Smyth’s ambitious mezzo-soprano writing, with top notes that probably please most sopranos. |

Deutsche Oper Berlin – Nabucco - FENENA |
Karis Tucker is a good Fenena, who can easily assert herself next to her „sister“ Abigaille in the trio in the first act... |
Klassik begeistert
klassik-begeistert.de |
...Karis Tucker as Fenena showed more vocal presence then her rival. Later, the mezzo soprano equally attracted the attention with a very beautifully and strikingly sung prayer. |
