  BIOGRAPHY  

 

In 2024 Marie Seidler made her successful debut as CHARLOTTE in “Werther” at the Jyske Opera and enthralled as DRYADE in “Ariadne auf Naxos” at the Teatro la Fenice in Venice. As BRANGÄNE in “Tristan und Isolde '' she made her debut with the Young Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

In 2021 she made her debut as SESTO in Mozart’s “La Clemeza di Tito '' under the musical direction of Daniele Squeo and sang ARSAMENE in Händel’s “Serse” at the Kaiserslautern Theatre. In 2022/23 she returned to this very opera house as ESTO in “Il Combattimento” and as SISER/INTERVIEWER in “Through his teeth” by Luke Bedford).
Recently, she could be heard as MARGARETHA in R. Schumann’s “Genoveva” at the Düsseldorf Tone Hall and at the Dresden Music Festival.

As ARSAMENE in “Xerxes” the mezzo soprano was also captivating at the Schleswig Holstein Landestheater and in the title part of OTTONE she enjoyed success at the Göttingen Händel Festival and the Innsbruck Festival of Ancient Music.

From 2016 until 2019 she was a member of the Giessen Theatre Ensemble, where she portrayed such roles as CHERUBINO, DORABELLA, DRYADE, OLGA, ANNIO, FLORA and BOSTANA in Cornelius' “Der Barbier von Bagdad” and the GOOSE GIRL in Humperdinck’s “Königskinder”.

In the season 2019/20 she portrayed FJODOR in “Boris Godunov” at the Mainz State Theatre and returned as CHERUBINO to the Giessen Theatre.

She made her acclaimed debut at the Frankfurt Opera as CARMEN in a version for children and debuted at the Frankfurt Academy for Music and Performing Arts as CIESCA in “Gianni Schicchi”. In Wagner's “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg” at the Mainz State Theatre she sang an apprentice.

In summer 2015 Marie completed her singing studies in Frankfurt am Main with Hedwig Fassbender ab. She absolved master classes with Malcolm Martineau, Brigitte Fassbaender, Julius Drake, Helmut Deutsch, Angelika Kirchschlager, Christoph Prégardien and Ingeborg Danz. She was a finalist of the Emmerich Smola competition, scholarship holder Heidelberg Spring, scholarship holder of the Richard-Wagner-Association Heidelbergand is a winner of the Trude-Eipperle-Rieger Prize.

Marie Seidler made her opera debut in 2012 at the Aachen Theatre in the title role of Maurice Ravel's L'ENFANT ET LES SORTILÈGES and gave concerts e.g. in Oxford and at the Händel Festival in London, where she participated at Lady Solti's on the occasion of Sir George Solti's 100th anniversary.

Moreover, in the lieder and concert repertoire she performed in the Laeiszhalle (Beethoven's „Egmont“) with the Hamburg Symphonic Orchestra, the alto part of “Elias” under the musical direction of Maxim Emelyanychev and in J.S. Bach’s “ St Matthew’s Passion“ in Lausanne under the direction of Aapo Häkkinen. Recitals brought her with the pianists Wolfram Rieger, Marcelo Amaral and Daniel Heide with the Schubertiades to Hohenems and Vilabertran,to the Schubert Week in the Berlin Boulez Hall, to Barcelona, London and the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival. In September 2023 she sang the soloist part in Mahler’s 8th Symphony under the musical direction of Neeme Järvi and the alto soloist part in Verdi’s “Requiem” with the Music Association Lippstadt next to Camilla Nylund.

Especially worth mentioning here are above all Marie Seidler as Sextus and D.K. as Titus. The first-mentioned portrayed the trousers role with a clear, powerful and smooth mezzo soprano voice; I would definitively like to hear more from her.
