  BIOGRAPHY  

 

Aitana Sanz combined piano and vocal studies in her hometown Valencia, Spain.
Later, absolved master studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna under the direction of baritone Florian Boesch. She is now coached by the soprano Krassimira Stoyanova.
At the age of 19, she made her debut at the Pérez Galdós Theatre in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with UNA VOCE DAL CIELO inVerdi’s Don Carlo. In 2022 she returned to the Pérez Galdós Theatre and made her debut in the role of OLYMPIA in Les Contes d'Hoffmann (a jump-in for the indisposed Jessica Pratt).

That same summer, she appeared as a member of the Accademia Rossiniana at the Rossini Opera Festival, where she made her Italian debut as CONTESSA DI FOLLEVILLE in ‘Il Viaggio a Reims’. Her debut in the United States followed as OSCAR in ‘Un Ballo in Maschera’ in Maryland in November 2022.

Aitana has been a member of the Accademia del Maggio Fiorentino since 2022.
Here she made her debut in 2023 as FRASQUITA in ‘Carmen’ and as PAMINA in a production of ‘The Magic Flute’.
In the same year, she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival as LE FEU, LA PASTORELLE et LE ROSSIGNOL in ‘L'Enfant et Les sortilèges’ , participating in the Young Singers Project.
In 2024 she sang SOLVEIG in a concert version of Peer Gynt at the Maggio Fiorentino and ELISETTA in ‘Il Matrimonio Segreto’ at the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Opera.

The young soprano already worked with conductors such as Yves Abel, Anna Handler, Andrea Licata, Nikolas Nägele, Zubin Mehta and Sesto Quatrini.

Aitana has been honoured with numerous prizes, including 1st prize at the International Giulio Neri Competition, 2nd prize at the Concorso Città Di Pienza, 3rd Prize at the International Alfredo Kraus Singing Competition, the Double Award in the Logroño Singing Competition, 3rd Prize and the ‘Voice of the Future’ Prize - the Prize for the Best Young Talent at the Otto Edelmann Singing Competition just to name a few..

Future engagements include PAMINA in ‘Treviso’, GIANNETTA in ‘L'elisir d'amore’ at the Opéra de Monte Carlo in 2024, OSCAR in Maó Opera House in Menorca or CLORINDA at the Bregenz Festival.
