In the season 2025/26 Mario Lerchenberg makes his debut at the Munich State Opera as HANS in “The Bartered Bride”.
Since the 2024/25 season, he has been a member of the Semperoper Dresden ensemble. His successful roles include TAMINO in “Die Zauberflöte”, STEERSMAN in “Der fliegende Holländer”, JAQUINO in” Fidelio”, NARRABOTH in Salome, ALFRED in “Die Fledermaus” and TUOMAS in “Saariaho: Innocence”.
From 2019 to 2024, the young Carinthian tenor was a member of the Graz Opera ensemble, where he performed roles such as ALFRED in “Die Fledermaus”, STEUERMANN in “Der fliegende Holländer”, HANS in “The Bartered Bride”, KUDRJASCH in “Katya Kabanova”, MACDUFF in “Macbeth”, ASLE in Eötvös: “Sleepless”, and as a tenor soloist in Britten's War Requiem, as well as in concert performances as FERRANDO in “ Cosi fan tutte” and DUCA in “Rigoletto”.
Mario Lerchenberger studied singing with Tom Sol, Lied with Joseph Breinl, oratorio with Robert Heimann, conducting with Johannes Prinz, and vocal pedagogy at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. During his studies, he gained his first stage experience as NEMORINO in “L'elisir d'amore”, FERRANDO in “Così fan tutte”, LEOPOLD in “Im weißen Rössl”, and FENTON in “Die lustige Witwe”.
His extensive concert repertoire includes works such as Bach's Mass in B Minor, St. John Passion, St. Matthew Passion, Christmas Oratorio, Beethoven's Christ on the Mount of Olives, Britten's War Requiem, Dvorak's Requiem and Stabat Mater, Handel's Messiah, Haydn's Creation, The Seasons and Stabat Mater, Mendelssohn's Lobgesang and Elijah, Mozart's Requiem, Orff's Carmina Burana, Rossini's Petite Messe solennelle, and Verdi's Requiem.
Mario Lerchenberger collaborates with renowned conductors and directors such as Daniele Gatti, Sebastian Weigle, Axel Kober, David Afkham, Gaetano d’Espinosa, Lorenzo Fioroni, Philipp M. Krenn, Josef Köpplinger, Roland Schwab, Bernd Mottl, Lars Marcel Braun, and many more.
He has performed at the Salzburg Felsenreitschule, the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Graz Musikverein, the Sala Sinfonica Madrid, the International Bach Festival in Leipzig, the Bruckner Festival in Linz, the Millstatt Music Weeks, and the arsonore, styriarte, and La Strada festivals in Graz, and was nominated for the Austrian Music Theater Prize in 2022 and 2024.
