In the 2026/27 season, Don Lee makes his debut at the Helsinki National Opera as RAMPHIS in “Aida”. In the summer of 2026, he sings the role of BANCO in “Macbeth” at the Heidenheim Festival.
In the 2025/26 season, he performs at the Karlsruhe State Theatre the COMMENDATORE in “Don Giovanni”, Colline in “La Bohème”, GREMIN in “Eugene Onegin” and SPARAFUCILE in “Rigoletto”.

From 2022 to 2025, Don Lee was a member of the Kassel State Theatre ensemble. Here, he portrayed such roles as HUNDING and FAFNER in the “Ring des Nibelungen”, PADRE GUARDIANO in “La forza del destino”, the HERMIT in “Der Freischütz”, the COMMENDATORE in “Don Giovanni”, DIJKOJ in “Katja Kabanova” and FIESCO in “Simone Boccanegra”.

Besides, in 2024 he sang HUNDING in a concert of “Die Walküre” with the Philharmonic Orchestra Györ.

Guest appearances also brought him to the Hanover State Opera as SPARAFUCILE, to the Frankfurt Opera and the Saarbrücken State Theatre as PADRE GUARDIANO and MARCHESE DI CALATRAVA in “La forza del destino” to the Anhalt Theatre Dessau as COMMENDATORE in “Don Giovanni” and to the Freiburg Theatre as GRANDE INQUISITORE in “Don Carlo”.

From 2018 to 2022 the artist had a permanent engagement at the Dessau Theatre, where he succeeded in such roles as SPARAFUCILE in “Rigoletto”, BASILIO in”Il barbiere di Siviglia”, the HERMIT in “Der Freischütz”, ZACCARIA in concerts of the opera “Nabucco”, LUCIFER in “Čert a Káča”, GERONTE in “Manon Lescaut” and RENEE in “Jolanthe”

The Korean bass studied singing in Seoul and at the Stuttgart Music Conservatory. While still studying, he already sang SARASTRO in “Die Zauberflöte” in Seoul and the part of GREMIN in “Eugin Onegin” with the Konstanz Philharmonic Orchestra at the Wilhelma Theater Stuttgart. From 2009 to 2010 Don Lee was a member of the Opera Studio of theStuttgart State Opera.

His first engagements included DON BASILIO in “Il barbiere di Siviglia” at the Thüringen Summer Festival in Sondershausen and CECCO DEL BECCHIO in Wagner’s “Rienzi” at the Meiningen State Theater. From 2012 until 2016 Don Lee was a permanent member of the ensemble of the Ulm Theatre, where he could be seen in such roles as KING HENRY in “Lohengrin” and the COMMENDATORE in “Don Giovanni”.

In the season 2016/17 he had guest performances at the ZETTEL in Britten’s “ A Midsummer Night’s Dream” In 2018 he sang TIMUR in “Turandot” at the Daegu Opera House in South Korea.

In 2011 Don won the Sponsorship Prize Audience Award at the International Singing Contest in Passau and became a finalist at the International Singing Contest «New Voices» and in 2016 he was a finalist at the Concorso Internazionale di Canto Lirico «Marcello Giordani» in Noto.
