In the 2026/27 season, Don Lee will make his debut at the Finnish National Opera as RAMPHIS in “Aida” and at the Polish National Opera in Salome.

In the summer of 2026, he successfully performed the role of BANCO in “Macbeth” at the Heidenheim Festival.

Further guest appearances have taken him to the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra as HUNDING in “Die Walküre”; to the Hanover State Opera as SPARAFUCILE; to the Frankfurt Opera and the Saarbrücken State Theatre as PADRE GUARDIANO and the MARCHESE DI CALATRAVA in “La forza del destino”; to the Anhalt Theatre in Dessau as the COMMENDATORE in “Don Giovanni”; to the Freiburg Theatre as the GRAND INQUISITOR in “Don Carlo” and to the Daegu Opera House as TIMUR in “Turandot*.

He works with renowned conductors and producers such as Dan Ettinger, Yoel Gamzou, Martin Rajna, Francesco Angelico, Claus Guth, Andreas Baesler, Brigitte Fassbaender.

In the SEASON 2025/26 he performed at the Karlsruhe State Theatre as the COMMENDATORE in “Don Giovanni”, COLLINE in “La bohème”, GREMIN in “Eugene Onegin”, and SPARAFUCILE in “Rigoletto”.

From 2022 to 2025, he was a member of the ensemble at the Kassel State Theatre ensemble, where he performed roles such as HUNDING and FAFNER in “Der Ring des Nibelungen”, PADRE GUARDIANO in “La forza del destino”, the HERMIT in “Der Freischütz”, the COMMENDATORE in “Don Giovanni”, DIKOJ in “Káťja Kabanová”, and FIESCO in “Simon Boccanegra”.

From 2018 to 2022, he held a permanent engagement at the Anhalt Theatre Dessau, where he enjoyed success in roles such as SPARAFUCILE in “Rigoletto”, DON BASILIO in “Il barbiere di Siviglia”, the HERMIT in “Der Freischütz”, ZACCARIA in a concert performance of “Nabucco”, LUCIFER in “Čert a Káča”, GERONTE in “Manon Lescaut”, and RENÉ in “Iolanta”.

The Korean bass studied singing in Seoul and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart. During his studies, he performed roles including Sarastro in *The Magic Flute* in Seoul, as well as Gremin in *Eugene Onegin*—the latter in a production with the Philharmonie Konstanz at the Wilhelma Theater in Stuttgart. From 2009 to 2010, Don Lee was a member of the opera studio at the Stuttgart State Opera.

His first engagements included such roles as DON BASILIO in “Il barbiere di Siviglia” at the Thuringian Summer Festival in Sondershausen, as CECCO DEL VECCHIO in Wagner’s “Rienzi” at the Meiningen State Theatre , as BOTTOM in Britten’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” at the Trier Theatre and as KING HENRY in “Lohengrin” and the COMMENDATORE in “Don Giovanni” at the Ulm Theatre.

In 2011, Don won both the Promotional Prize and the Audience Award at the International Singing Competition in Passau and reached the final round of the "New Voices" International Singing Competition. In 2016, he was a finalist in the "Marcello Giordani" International Opera Singing Competition in Noto.
