The young Belgian soprano Louise Foor has already been heard at the Opéra de Paris, La Monnaie, Bayerische Staatsoper, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Opéra Royal de Wallonie, Théâtre Capitole de Toulouse or Opéra de Metz, among many others.
Louise studied singing at the Royal Higher Institute of Music and Pedagogy in Namur before continuing her training at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin. In 2017, she was awarded the prize for Best Young Artist at the “Hariclea Darclée” International Competition in Romania and in 2020, she won first prize at the Virgilijus Noreika International Competition in Vilnius. In 2022, she made her debut at several institutions, including La Monnaie in Brussels, the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse as FIRST NIMPH in Rusalka, the Grand Théâtre in Luxembourg and the Grand Théâtre in Geneva as BLUMENMÄDCHEN in Parsifal, or DIANA in Iphigénie in Tauride at the Opéra de Montpellier.
She was a member of the Opera Studio of the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich for the 2023-2024 season appearing with roles such as KATJA in the Passagierin, the title role of LUCREZIA, NELLA and CERCATORE DI ELEMOSINA in the Trittico or FRASQUITA, among many others. Recent engagements include her debut in the role of LEILA (Les pêcheurs de perles) in Bordeaux, her first appearance at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie in Liège, LISETTE (La Rondine) at the Opéra de Metz, FRASQUITA (Carmen) at La Monnaie in Brussels and Frank Martin's Requiem in Geneva as part of Thierry Fischer's ‘Odyssée Frank Martin’ project.
She has also become a resident artist at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Waterloo. During the 2025-2026 season, she appears at the Opéra National de Paris as GERHILDE in the new production of Walküre and will perform the role of WOGLINDE (Das Rheingold) at the Salzburg Festival and at the Berliner Philharmonie. She will also make her debut at the Opera de Sao Paulo as the Soprano in a stage production of Brahm’s Deutsches Requiem as well as her Spanish debut with Beethoven’s 9th. Symphony in Valladolid. She has also been invited to the Christmas Concert at the Royal Palace in Belgium and will come back to the Metz Opera as the SOPRANO in Le Martyre de Saint Sébastian.
