REVIEWS

Philharmonie Essen – Fidelio – ROCCO
With his considerate portrayal of Rocco Johan Schinkler was the ideal counterpart to Ludgren’s brutal Don Pizarro. He sang with a warm and filling baritone voice and also as an actor he had a sympathetic, fatherly charisma.

Johan Schinkler portrayed the jailor Rocco with a profound bass voice. He convincingly played the deep sympathy, Rocco feels for Fidelio.

Folkoperan Stockholm - Don Carlos – PHILIPP II

Folkoperan Stockholm – Tristan und Isolde – KÖNIG MARKE

Wermland Opera – Der Ring des Nibelungen – FAFNER / HAGEN
Johan Schinkler performed both of his parts very well, with an excellent bass. His acting as Hagen was particularly strong; we could clearly see how Hagen’s personality was twisted by the hatred passed down to him by Alberich.
