The young tenor is a member of the New Music Theatre Linz since the season 2022/23 and can be seen here in such roles as CZUPAN in »Gräfin Mariza«, BASILIO in »Le nozze di Figaro« or VOGELSANG in »Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg«.
At the Lehar-Festival Bad Ischl he made his debut in summer 2023 as COUNT STANISLAUS in »Der Vogelhändler« and as COUNT SASCHA KARLOWITZ in »Schön ist die Welt«.

After first roles in the lyrical repertoire, the singer now concentrates on the buffo and character repertoire In spring 2022 he completed his master studies in singing with Uwe Schenker-Primus at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Weimar. Here, he was a member of the Belvedere Opera Studio Weimar and made his first scenic experiences while still studying, performing as FERRANDO in Mozart's »Cosi fan tutte«, but also in opera and operetta revues.

In 2021/2022 he had guest performances as TAMINO in Mozart's »Die Zauberflöte« in a production of Ingo Kolonerics at the Salzburg Opera Festival »Oper am Berg« and in another production in Bad Birnbach. In the season 2020/2021 ha was at first engaged in Verdi's »Las Taviata« as Violetta's servant GUISEPPE at the Salzburg Opera Festivsal »Oper am Berg«, before he jumped in on short notice to portray the role of GASTONE , which he stunningly learned within 48 hours, saving the evening performance.

Jonathan initially studied baritone with Klaus Häger at the Rostock Music and Art Academy. After changing his repertoire, in the first year as a tenor, he won the 3rd Prize of the Salzburg Grandi Voci Competition. He attended master classes with Sybilla Rubens. Jonathan's liedinterpretations were influenced by his collaboration with Karola Theill. Due to his vocal coaches Francesco Cottone and Paul Jungblodt, he is one of the classical singers who can also sing Rock, Pop and Jazz.

In his younger days he learned the violin and then the piano. Later, still at school, he learned playing the guitar and drums as an autodidact. At the age of 14, he discovered opera singing and immediately won the 2nd Federal Award at the »Jugend Musiziert« Competition. Besides, he won the Advancement Award of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Contest within the framework of the »Ostracized Music« Competition and the German scholarships of the Oscar-and-Vera-Ritter-Foundation and the Carin-Riesen-Foundation.

His counterpart in the tenor range is the new ensemble member Joathan Hatzendorf in the role of Baron Zsupán: not only an excellent voice, carrying and beautifully timbred in all registers, but also physically a truly present comedian, up to almost acrobatic dance performances. Especially in the extravagantly and jokily presented „Varasdin“ Hatzendorf impresses with classical singing but also scores with delicious rap. He was rewarded with a long lasting scenic applause.
