The young tenor buffo Marian Kalus completed his musical studies with a final examination at the Hanns Eisler University in Berlin with Prof. Scot Weir. Since 2008 he is also teached by Michael Schade and Rolando Villazon.

While still studying, the talented tenor already performed on several renowned opera houses.

He had guest performances in W. Hiller’ s ‚Das Traumfresserchen’ at the German Opera Berlin, as Tybalt in Gounod’s ‚Roméo et Juliette’ at the Augsburg Theatre, in co-productions of the Comic Opera Berlin with the Hebbeltheatre Berlin in ‘L`heure espagnole’ from Ravel, ‘La Revoltosa’ from Chapi and as Duke in ‘Eine Nacht in Venedig’ from Johann Strauß.

Mozart’s ‚Zauberflöte’ brought Marian Kalus as Monostatos to the Brandenburg Theatre and to the Kleist Theatre in Frankfurt/Oder. He was Tamino on a Germany tour and at the Opera Festival in Isny the tenor could be heard as Bardolfo in Verdi’s ‘Falstaff’.

Besides, Marian Kalus is very successful as oratorio singer in Berlin, Cologne and as part of the Bach Academy Stuttgart.

Moreover the versatile artist composes, plays trumpet and piano, has completed a training as step dancer and could be seen as singer„Plappler“ in the oscar winning concentration camp drama „Die Fälscher“.

Since the season 2011/12 Marian Kalus is in his first permanent engagement at the Nordhausen Theatre where he portrayed a.o. the STEERSMAN in ‚Der Fliegende Holländer’, PEDRILLO,BOB BOLES in ‚Peter Grimes’, TONY in ‚West Side Story’, BRISSARD in ‚Der Graf von Luxemburg’ and in Andrea Chenier and Aida. In the season 13/14 he was here DON BASILIO in ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’ (Mozart), ADAM in ‘Der Vogelhändler’, BORSA in ‘Rigoletto’ and FREDDY in ‘My Fair Lady’.

In the seasons 2014/15 and 2015/16 Marian Kalus had very successful guest performances as ADAM at the Theatres of Plauen/Zwickau.
