As a part of the YOUNG SINGERS PROJECT Andi Früh could be seen in summer 2012 at the Salzburg Festival in the role of a YOUNG SOLDIER in Zimmermann’s ‘Die Soldaten’.

From 2001 until 2007 the young lyric tenor, who is famous for his brilliant high notes, studied singing with David Geary in St. Gallen. Completing studies brought the young Swiss to Prof. Scot Weir at the Zurich College of Arts. Furthermore he studies Lied and Oratorio with Hartmut Höll.Master classes with Prof. Francisco Araiza and Prof. Dunja Vejzovic complete his education. Currently he is also working with Cesare Colona. Since spring 2008, he is being sponsored by the sic itur ad astra (siaa) foundation of the Principality of Liechtenstein. Since summer 2009 he is an awardee of the Armin-Weltner-Foundation in Zurich.

Andi Früh is very much sought after as a concert singer in Switzerland and Germany ( e.g. at the St. Gallen Cathedral and the Zurich Sound Hall). His repertoire reaches from cantates and oratorios of J.S. Bach to ‘the Swan’ in Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana. In December 2008, he sang for the first time the evangelist/tenor in Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in Zurich and in May 2008 he performed the Kerner-Lieder from Robert Schumann at the Zurich Schubertiade.

Apart from doing numerous concert engagements e.g. at the Arosa Music Festival, the promising tenor also made his first successful stage experiences.
He performed parts like Dr. Siedler in Benatzky’ s ‘Im Weissen Rössl’, Sam in Kurt Weill’s ‘Street Scene’ and Bastien in Mozart’s ‘Bastien und Bastienne’. In March 2007, he celebrated his debut as Baron Kronthal in Albert Lortzing’ s ‘ Der Wildschütz’. Various engagements on operetta stages in Switzerland followed. In November 2008, he made his widely acclaimed debut as Tamino in ‘Die Zauberflöte’.

In the season 2009/2010 he was part of the Osnabruck Opera House ensemble. In the season 2010/2011 and 2011/2012 Andi Früh had guest performances at the Klagenfurt Opera House and the Rostock Popular Theatre. In autumn he sang the tenor part in Schumann’s Requiem and Frank Martin’s Terra Pax’ at the Oetker Hall Bielefeld.

From autumn 2012 Andi Früh is a member of the Magdeburg Theatre ensemble, where he can be seen in such roles as BELMONTE, LYSANDER and the YOUNG SAILOR in ‘Tristan und Isolde’.
