Teatro Cervantes de Malaga - Fidelio - ROCCO
"At her side the great winner of the evening was Rocco by Tijl Favetys. …/… with a broad, dark voice, just perfect for the jailer. With sure projection and being a model German, the Belgian bass portrayed a character of unusual nobility. He was the most applauded artist of the evening, which was more than fair."
"Another highlight of the evening was the jailer Rocco sung by the Belgian bass Tijl Faveyts. His aplomb, scenic talent, his perfect vocal mastery and finally his clear tessitura, which shone in each one of his appearances brought him the greatest applause of the evening for his performances as a soloist, in duet or in one of the many ensembles. His perfectly melting voice of clearly audible color was in every sense ideal for the character."

"...a fabulous cast. ...and Tijl Faveyts in an honest, carnal and moderate interpretation of the malicious jailer Rocco."

Festspiele Sankt Gallen - Il Trovatore - FERRRANDO
"In this production, Ferrando’s interpreter was challenged more as usual. Not only Tijl Faveyts had to recapitulate the previous history, which explains Azucena’a thirst for revenge - which he did with a powerful, significantly outlined bass voice - , he equally had to pull the strings like some kind of producer. Starting as a demon, who made the figures perform, he changed in the course of the evening into an angel of death."
Opernglas September 2019/ Th. Baltensweiler
Every child can tell you that there is nothing more simple then casting the roles of Verdi’s “Il Trovatore”: One just needs the world’s four best singers. And then there is no money left for the fifth role, Ferrando. This means that the first – long! – scene has had it. The audience is bored to death and even before the intermission the evening turns into a disaster. But not so at the Sankt Gallen Festival! Not only does Tijl Faveyts gives the role of Ferrando shape with his noble bass voice. The director Aron Stiehl makes him also pull the strings: once as a clown, who calls into the circus ring, then again as the angel of death, who accompanies the death.

At her side, the boastful matchmaker Kezal, Tijl Faveyts, debuting at the Semperoper. With his outstanding stage presence, his distinctive, well focused bass voice and his feigned kindness he became the focal point of the performance.
Opera Bilbao - Fidelio – ROCCO
Excellent Tijl Faveyts’ Rocco, a categorical, rotund voice and well-modulated, with unequivocal technique, good projection and attractive colour.
Platea Magazine
The most captivating role in the opera is the old prison guard Rocco, who here, with the voice of the bass Tijl Faveyts, was designed using the whole subtle colour palette of his voice, developing form the initial coldness to the humanist feeling of pity in the very end.
