Milen Bozhkov’s most-sung roles include DON JOSÉ, which he sang at the Nuremberg State Opera in the season 2021/22 and in a new production of “Carmen „at the Kassel State Theatre in the season 20/21...
Before, he already succeeded in this very part at the Coburg Theatre. He also sang the PRINCE in “Rusalka” at the Opera House Halle and made his debut as OFFICER in “Cardillac” at the Hagen Theatre.

Milen Bozhkov studied singing at the Sophia Music Academy and pursued his studies at the Graz Music University with KS Prof. Joanna Borowska. The tenor completed his musical education with KS Krassimira Stoyanova , with whom he still regularly takes lessons.

His first engagements immediately brought him to the Sophia National Opera and the Opera House Graz and from 2007 he had a permanent engagement at the Maribor Opera.

From 2011 to 13 he was a member of the Coburg ensemble. Here, he sang a wide repertoire including such role as NADIR ( „Les Pêcheurs de perles“), ALFREDO („La Traviata“) TEBALDO („ I Capuleti e i Montecchi''), PINKERTON („Madama Butterfly“) , LENSKI („Eugen Onegin“), RICCARDO („ Un Ballo in Maschera“), RODOLFO („La Boheme“), POLLIONE („ Norma“) , SINGER ( „Der Rosenkavalier“), and GERALD ( „Lakmè“ ) and the DUKE of Mantua („Rigoletto“).

Today, the Bulgarian tenor is still a regular guest at the Coburg Theatre. Recently, he has had great successes here as CAVARADOSSI („Tosca“), PRINCE SOU CHONG („Das Land des Lächelns“) and PRINCE („Rusalka“).

Moreover, he had numerous guest performance such as PINKERTON at the Darmstadt State and the Sophia National Opera (2017), RODOLFO at the Nuremberg State Theatre and the Detmold Municipal Theatre, DUCA DI MANTOVA at the Schenkenberg Festival and at the Aalto Theatre Essen (2017), DON JOSÉ u at the Schenkenberg Festival and at the Stara Zagora State Opera.

Further concert engagements took him to Japan, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Latvia, and Bulgaria.

In summer 2022 he makes his debut in the title part of Verdi’s OTELLO next to Krassimira Stoyanova at the summer festival of the Varna State Opera.
