REVIEWS

Opernfestival Gut Immling – La Traviata - VIOLETTA
Initially, she portrays a childishly coquetting Violetta with a certain portion of pride. Her voice, which is crystal-clear and captivating in the high notes and coloraturas, cannot (yet) fill the mezzo field: she is somewhat obscured by the orchestra. The Violetta we experience here, likes to party and is present in society, but she lacks maturity. However, the story’s tragedy unfolds. And somehow, corresponding to its tragedy, with the increasing of her illness Diana Alexe’s Violetta musically gains. She accumulates in a frighteningly silvery soprano brilliance, which is extremely touching.

The "grande Dame", petite shaped Diana Alexe as Violetta, dressed in some hot pantsuit in leopard print, temptingly moves with swaying hips through the audience from the back of the house to the stage– wow, what a performance…
Violetta‘s "Drinking Song" not only seduces Alfredo, the first act can already be seen as a prematurely highlight. Diana Alexe with her soft, yet utterly expressive soprano voice – with secure coloraturas yet vocally rather thin, has a body expression which is simply overwhelming...
The death scene, at its best, goes straight to the heart. Bravo!

Junge Philharmonie Wien – Fest der Stimmen
The Orchestra of the Young Philharmonics and the Vienna and the ORG Chorus Juventus ORG of the Wiener Sängerknaben performed under the musical direction of Michael Lessky together with the soprano Diana Alexe and the harp virtuoso Elisabeth Plank. Voices and instruments unite into a vivacious music festival. The „Voice of Youth“ becomes apparent both in Maurice Ravel’s pieces and the joyful works by Schubert. And all the more if such a masterly soprano sings.
