In September 2014 Igor Levitan wan the first Prize at the ACCADEMIA BELCANTO Competition in Graz. Enhtusiastically, the press praised his ‘bass timbre, which reminds of Schaljapin’.
In May 2015 he made his debut as SAMUEL in ‘Un ballo in maschera’ at the Rostock Popular Theatre. In autumn 2015 he portrays WURM in ‚Luisa Miller’ at the Theater in Plauen / Zwickau.
In 2011 Igor Levitan completed his singing studies at the Vienna Conservatory with his Master of Arts. Subsequently, he attended the International Summer Academy Mozarteum in Salzburg and took master classes with Prof. Rudolf Pirnay.
In 2012 the young bass baritone was a semi-finalist at the International Singing Competition for Wagner Voices in Karlsruhe and was awarded a Scholarship of the Marie-Luise Imbusch-Foundation. Besides, he is a Prize winner of the 7th Fidelio Competition of the Hugo-Breiter Assiciation (Vienna).
In 2012-2013 Igor Levitan was member of the opera elite studio in Lubeck.
At the Lubeck Theatre, he could be seen as TITUREL in ‘Parsifal’, OREST’S KEEPER in ‘Elektra’ , SERVANT/HEROLD in ‘Macbeth’ and PALÉMON in ‘Thais’.
Recently, he portrayed DAPERTUTTO in ‚Les Contes d’Hoffmann’, SARASTRO in ‘Die Zauberflöte’ and GIANNI SCHICCHI at the Theater Akzent, Vienna.
He sang MASETTO in ‘Don Giovanni’ on a Japan tour of Opera Classical Vienna.
The interesting artist sang first concerts at Castelvecchio in Verona and at the Gasteig in Munich. In solo evenings, he performed in Germany and Austria.
Born in St. Petersburg, the artist has the German citizenship and is fluent in German.
